Ancient Bees

The oldest known depiction of the bee in art is The man (or woman) of bicorp an (at least) 8000 year old cave painting in the Coves de l'Aranya in Bicorp, Valencia, Spain.

Thanks for this post! I spent part of a summer touring caves with cave art in and around the Basque region of Spain. All were fantastic - if I had known about this one I would've made a special trip. It looks amazing. And if you ever are in the vicinity of any European art caves, they are really really magical, even the small ones.
