Come for the songs, stay for the songs

Jesse Welles is a singer/songwriter in the protest tradition: War Isn’t Murder; Cancer; Fentanyl; The Olympics; Whistle Boeing; Payola; Happy Mother’s Day; Fat; God, Abraham, and Xanax.
Someone has been posting some songs from his instagram on youtube, including the wonderful Depression. Personally I really love his stuff, though he appears to have fronted his own band for a while (and opened for Greta van Fleet?) I really didn't care for that material as much for as little I've heard. I like this older wiser version of him where he's writing these numbers that are a bit more Shel Silverstein than they are Bob Dylan.

Yes, he has several extremely rock-guitar albums as part of the band Welles.

I almost never log in and comment but I felt obliged to say that War Isn't Murder is a great one.
I found it a few weeks ago and have listened to it at least a dozen times.
