Is it me or does the phrase "GOOGLE KAI is a Fruit of a Lebanese Father" being repeated in every blog entry and the link to "ALTUS Professional Search engine Optimization" make this somewhat suspicious? Am I a sucker?

What. the. christ.

I really hope this is a joke.

Saw this on Google Blog and wondered who would post it.

At least they didn't name him Google Fu.

Yeah, this is pretty fishy all around.

That's totally not a real baby either.

If it is real (and it smells like it is), then Google has no right to nastygram me (relevant self-link) about using the domain name www.googobits.com

I dunno about your domain name, juggernautco, but the logo that you have up there certainly looks to me like a violation of Google's trademark rights.

I make no comment as to whether those rights are a good thing or a bad thing (as I don't care much either way), but knowing what little I do know about such matters, I don't find it in the least surprising that they sent you a cease and desist latter.

Anus, by posting it on MeFi, if it IS bogus, you've probably increased their pagerank somewhat.

I dunno, looks legit to me. Pretty JeffK on the page design but then English is his third language which may explain some of the communication difficulty.

He'd best not name the new search service he's building after Google, though ...

Tangentially, I like "Savannah Roxanna".

I don't get it. How does one perform a search on this new Google Kai baby Web app and what sort of page ranking algorithms does it use?

Apparently, his first name is Oliver. Not quite as impressive.

My first child's middle name will be "Shitsandwich." That'll stick. Just have to convince the missus ...

Just amazing. I don't see how Yahoo or Microsoft can compete with this development. I'd say it signals the end for them. I downloaded Google Kai and it's almost as cool as Google Earth!! Except it seems to keep pooping on itself, (must be Google Kai Beta).

It is legit. As I said, I read it on Google Blog.

Yes, but will he have a hard time in school or not?

From the page: my answer is absolutley not if he is using Google services and Google KAI may be building new idea with his friends around The Human Psychometric and The Informational Structural Mind.

I have no objections then.

Something tells me that little Google Kai will grow up to hate his parents with an uncommon passion.

Yeah, they bottled it if you ask me by going for "Oliver Google".

Aside, Google's not as stupid as some kids names like Jazmyn or anything in this baby name blog - fave quote "If you're using a consonant cluster today, you have to give it room to breathe."
