"I hypothesize that if you remove all the text of Garfield's speech, or thoughts, or whatever that is, that it becomes an oddly surrealist comic."

All I get is an error message.
The far superior Dinosaur Comic randomiser still works though.

I just tried it for myself, going here and scrolling back through the last 5 or so cartoons, removing whatever's in Garfield's thought bubble.

It doesn't seem surrealist at all... in fact, it just makes it a much better strip (not that that's saying much, of course). It seems most of the obnoxiousness of the strip lies in the redundancy of whatever's in Garfield's bubble. The story runs along just fine without him saying anything, and I could tell exactly what was going on.

Crap, it looks like the site's getting hammered. Have some patience.

Via Websnark, BTW. Here's the post where he discusses it.

Plus, I bet you $10 cats can't think in English.

Relax, it's even better if you also remove the pictures.

Also, the Websnark guy is a complete tool. I hope he gets hit by a bus.

How so? Because he has opinions? What a crime.

The websnark link led me to the Comic Strip Doctor, which was also pretty entertaining.

Site seems to have died a more permanent death now.

idontlikewords... perhaps you should include a "Not Safe for Epileptics" with that link. It did make me jump out of my chair and dance, though.
