Sutton admits to drinking problem

Eddie Sutton, Oklahoma State University's beloved basketball coach, is back on the sauce. Sutton, 69, is the winning-est active coach in the NCAA, but like other basketball legends, he's no stranger to controversy or tragedy. Sutton previously spent a stint in rehab in the late 1980s.

Is it just me or does this post, these circumstances and this reporting lack something of a modicum of taste and humanity. Oh, and the only evidence (as stated in espn anyway) in relation to the DUI is a bottle of pain pills. The word "allegedly" is your friend. Let's hope he doesn't go selfgoogling looking for some solace/support/encouragement/empathy.

Besides, what's so inhumane about calling him beloved and linking to the fact that he's won almost 800 games in 35 years?

Isn't this a fairly old (weeks) story?

The whole his kid is coaching for him and he gets to keep the wins thing is just wrong.

To gain a perspective for how the school loves him, his name is written in about three to four foot letters on the court. I'm not sure if I know of any other schools which do that for their head coaches.

And yes, its about a week or so old.
