Ugly things

There are plenty of contests whose purpose is to pick out the best looking dog, or flowers or various other things. But what about the ugliest? These sites and contests bring you the ugliest cars, dogs, celebrities (YMMV), buildings in Ann Arbor, MI, and those bastions of cuteness, babies.

Nice... wonder how many of the pictures on the ugly babies link were submitted by the doting new parents... :-)

Ann Arbor did strike me as a little nouveau-industrial and poorly-formed, but no more than any other city without some architectural driving force. Some of the university buildings are lovely, and the museum is too, so it's no weeping canker.

...however, that building. That building - it just didn't seem to have any way in or out. It's like a looming end-of-level brick monster come to spawn.

Also, Chrysler PT Cruiser.

Gotta be a tossup between Miss Ellie and Pee Wee for the ugliest dog title. Good lord.

Last year's world ugliest dog, Sam, sadly passed away last November. How the hell did that pug get into the competition though? In comparison to those other mongrels, it looks positively normal!

what does it mean that aside from posh spice and kate moss, I don't recognize a single one of those so-called celebrities?

I think it means that you're not English.

Luckily we're quite lenient towards that nowadays.

i'm noticing that the preponderance of ugly dogs (including the much loved Sam) are Chinese Crested hairless.

So i wonder, do people get the dogs because they are ugly, or do they get the dog and later realize, 'holy shit! this dog is hideous.'?

Either way, i'm voting for Tator Tot. She's got attitude.

It's PC to say Kate Moss is ugly, I guess. Or it means you need glasses.

Aren't all Corvettes ugly?

Chinese Crested Hairless look a little like a cross between an old man's scrotum and a rat, which in turn sounds a little like the scenario for a '50s science-gone-wrong horror movie. Old mad scientist spills radioactivity on his crotch, gets bit by rat, some other stuff happens, US Army shoots rockets at Chinese Crested Hairless emerging from drainage culvert in Los Angeles. The end. Or is it???

I've always wondered why people insist all babies are cute — little kids, yeah OK, but infants? Not so much.* (NSFB — Not Safe For Beverages)
