People's Mujahedin of Iran (PMOI) a.k.a. Mujahideen-e Khalq (MEK) Apparently
they now
work for us and are inside Iran. Could lead to similar results as
the Gulf of Tonkin.
The terrorist enemy of my terrorist enemy is my friend. Logic and consistency are just not our long suits, apparently.

We funded Saddam back in the day, too. Of course we'd take over MEK. We probably asked Saddam to form them. See also, Pakistan.
Iran is the new Red Menace. Never mind that women in Iran can do more and have more rights than women in Saudi Arabia.

MEK are a fairly progressive group. Their political wing is lead by a woman. They're secular and Liberal in their view. They gave up their arms peacefully when the US invaded Iraq. Comparisons to bin Laden and his buddies are kind of stupid. They really have nothing in common.
That said, I am under the impression they they are not popular in the country, since they fought with the Iraqis against the Iranian regime during the Iran-Iraq war.
And saying that Iran treats women better then Saudi Arabia is hardly an accomplishment.

Actually, Iraq had the most gender equality of almost any Arab or middle eastern state.

except being deemed terrorists by both the u.s. and e.u., they've tried to have the designation overturned 4 times and failed everytime.

Are they ideologically similar at all? No. But keep calling every disident group a terrorist orginization: it's worked well enough so far.
