It's official: Jedi can't, and never could have been, an official religion. There were emails going around New Zealand and the UK claiming if there were enough who listed it as a religion, it could be official, but that's not the case.

We've already discussed this point below. I'll say what I said before: this minor technicality shouldn't stop people putting 'Jedi' if they want to- at the least it will amuse or annoy the Census enumerators, making their life more interesting for a fraction of a nanosecond while they strike 'Jedi' from the list.

Of course it's faintly ridiculous that anyone would wish to adhere to George Lucas' rusty spirituality as their religion of choice, but then again Scientology's huge, isn't it.

A lot of fans are idiots, considering the large fan base starwars has there must be more than a few. I don't understand all the fuss really.

Anyway, Xenu is and will be our only true master.

This is all so silly. As noted in another thread, all that needs to be done is some paperwork to incorporate. Mail-order churches have existed for years.
