I love Peckinpah for many reasons, but most of all for getting one of the greatest cinematic moments ever out of Ernest Borgnine with just a smile.

Yeah, this is really not the best format in which to watch Peckinpah. Still, nice post, nola.

It starts with a bunch of ants nipping at a scorpions youtube heavy post, then small boys throw burning straw on top of the ants and the scorpion.

At the end everyone is shot to bits.

The Ballad of Cable Hogue has perhaps the most hilarious and/or depressing death of a major character in popular film IMO.

And I was sure glad to see the more inside there, but yeah, see these as big as possible.

How does Ernest Borgnine get a tank at the end of Convoy anyhow?

I found this biography of Peckinpah to be interesting and informative.

Though my previous misquote may imply otherwise.

How can a film that only got 7.6 at IMDB beat Fellini's 8½? The math seems wrong here.

Dude, IMDB's 4th best rated movie of all time is The Dark Knight.

IMDB is not... well it's just not, okay?

Americans take note... Straw Dogs is an exact recreation of life in rural Britain.

Oh, wow. Gosh. Is it just rose colored glasses.. or wasn't IMDB a bit more, uhmn, film-theory-nerdist 10 years ago?

About the only place you can find a higher concentration of morons on the interwebs than IMDB is -- maybe -- YouTube. These sites make AICN look like a MENSA convention, for real.
