First QB in NCAA history to win four bowl games. Patrick White has been a record setting quarterback during his four years at West Virginia University. An early season Heisman trophy candidate, White is the all-time rushing QB in history, and apparently, an unassuming ladies man.

During the post-game interview, his coach gave him the most exuberant, unabashedly admiring testimonial ever. It was awesome.

Ah yes, the glorious Meinke Auto Care Bowl. To the victors the exaltation of conquest; to the vanquished the agony of etc

Yeah, the corporate sponsorships are getting pretty ridiculous. Before too long it'll be like the Phillipine Basketball Association, where all the teams are named for the corporation that owns them and fans thrill to such classic match-ups as the Talk n' Text Phone Pals vs. the Purefoods Tender Juicy Giants.

An unassuming ladies man. A post to which we should all aspire.

Gosh, that doesn't sound, what's the word.... sustainable?

I think the only way ladies man is sustainable is when its unassuming.

There are two ways of advancing the ball in American Football. A player may run towards the goal line with the ball, or a player can throw the ball to another player who is closer to the goal line. The QB or Quarterback is the most important player, as he is responsible for initiating the execution of a play.

The poster is saying that this particular player holds the collegiate record for most yards running the football.

What has been easy to overlook is the massive number of bowl games that have been added in recent years. Is it really a big deal to win a bowl game when half the teams in the country are playing in a bowl? When all but 4 of the bowl-eligible teams got invited to bowls? When 10 are playing in bowls after going 6-6?

The bigger achievement is probably that Pat White started all 4 years.

Hell, even I got a bowl game: puff, puff, pass. My bong is named the Flutie.

I don't think beating North Carolina counts as a "win."

I'm hardly a football fan but I understood that perfectly.

That said, White played in two BCS bowls (Fiesta and Sugar) and another New Year's bowl with a long pedigree (Gator).

It is amazing how low the bar is set for football players. He gets to be an unassuming ladies man based on those few sentences.

Here there are dudes who will slather feminism all over themselves in multi-paragraph comments in order to appear to be the most sensitive mefite in the hopes that the few female mefi members will sit next to them at a meetup. Sadly they still come off as slighty creepy forum wannabe lotharios.

I hope Mr. White is enjoying his collegiate success and gets a big rookie signing bonuse because the NFL is a very different game and if he runs the ball the same way he may get some first downs but probably at the cost of advancing his retirement along with the ball.

Especially considering that the Tar Holes gave WV the game.

I'd be more impressed if we could say he had taken his team to the post season four years in a row. Maybe someday we'll have a division I playoff...

I think that should be "all-time most understandingest MeFite," which he ain't.
