Soon California will have doggie discos, I'm telling you.

Songs to Make Dogs Happy. (Or your cat, or bird, or gorilla.) I'm not saying this is a good thing, but it's certainly a....thing that one can buy. Composers have used SCIENTIFICAL STUDIES to create a CD that dogs love. They had a scientist work with them and everything. From that study they perfected tunes like "Squeaky Deaky" and "Scratch my Back". Says one of the musicians, "It's actually a bit nauseating for humans, although people do get addicted to it," said Haynes. "Especially Squeaky Deakey." Doesn't work on everydog, apparently. I can't wait for the mash-ups & remixes.

"You're A Good Dog" made me very sad.

Is it supposed to do that?

My dog prefers "Backass" by the Butthole Surfers, thank you very much.

Hey, someone took my hobby and made it a product. I wholeheartedly approve -- The only thing cuter than a puppy is a puppy tilting his head to music.

I played these for Lara, this was her response....

She does, however, love to listen to Alice's Resturant

It doesn't do much in the way of otherwise rating the quality of the show, but we always look to our pooch when a dog onscreen does any barking/howling/growing to see whether it gets the heads-up realism award from him.

Having now checked a few of these out (surprised that there are no animal noises -- I guess that could provoke distress), I think any would be a fine candidate for looped-playback in my insane-making asylum.

Cute dog HuronBob!

I don't know about these songs. Our labs didn't seem too interested, much less impressed by the clips. Put on a few tracks of Jingle Dogs however...

Fail. All six members of my test pack just slept right through several tracks, with the exception of "Squeaky Deaky," which got a momentary "The hell?" look from Cosmo the shih tzu before he subsided again into dormancy.

I have a feeling that album is what is on the sound system in the elevator to hell.

My cat Doodlebug loves Take Five from Dave Brubeck Quartet. She will run into the room when it comes on my stereo (and just now when I opened the linked YouTube). She is one cool cat.

My other cat likes Monterrey NL Mexico band Control Machete. Ella es una gatita loca.

When is this band going on tour? I will pay dollars.
Also, obligatory Stooges reference.

How do pets like Keep the Money in the Country"?

"Squeaky Deaky" made our collie turn his head to a 45-degree angle, and earned the computer a stare. However, "Adventure Dog" made him trot out of the room, in search of a human who wouldn't mess with his mind.

This post is hogwash. Everyone knows all dogs and cats love the following music:

1. Pet Sounds, by the Beach Boys
2. Monk's Dream, by Thelonious Monk
3. Gospels, Hymns and Spirituals, by Mahalia Jackson
4. What's Going On, by Marvin Gaye

and of course, the following singles:

1. Wishing You Were Here, by Chicago
2. Moonage Daydream, by David Bowie
3. Ball and Biscuit, by The White Stripes
4. Hyena Stomp, by Jelly Roll Morton

Any animal that resists this music must be checked for signs of possession or alien invasion.

I have to be careful to listen to AC/DC's "Given The Dog A Bone" on headphones - lest the whippets get their hopes up.

Joe I'm not sure that's legal anyway.

I'm not certain that my friends will appreciate me changing my ringtone from "Banana Phone" to "Squeaky Deaky," but I find that the urge is impossible to control.

Joe, how do your dogs feel about Devo?

The website says these are "Used by veteranians", but dogbreedinfo doesn't have an entry on those.

My belief, after reading that none of your dogs cared, was that this is an album, nay, a genre, created for furries. Do you think furries play this and dance around to it?

How much do you hate me for putting that visual in your brain?

The thing to do is play Squeaky Deaky, and then immediately feed your dog. After repeated exposure, he'll love the song. Orat least salivate to it.

Squeaky Deaky got Odie's head turning, but nothing from Cissy (yes, I know I'll go to hell for putting her in that get-up).

Now, the minute I put on some Zeppelin or The Who, these two pooches are in heaven. There's nothing as awesome as hearing these two helping Plant and Daltrey out.

Whoops...links up top there don't work.

Here's the working ones: Odie & Cissy.

My dogs love "Sunrise Earth" so much I got the dvd set. They will watch and/or listen to it. They looked at my like I was stupid for playing songs from this cd. We'll stick with Sunrise Earth.

My dog loves it when I sing whatever song is in my head (or commercial jingle playing on the tv) and change the words to be about her.

My cat just looks at me like I'm an idiot.
