The cats are not responding well to the toys. Not even the laser. Should've used kittens

cats are so damn uncooperative, aren't they?

One of the many great lines:

"They'll hunt you down
and tase you, bro'
for playin' with the rules."

Yay! Somebody posted this!

I'm thoroughly enjoying this album. Particularly the two closer songs, No Place Like Home and March On. Those were the two that weren't "test group approved" and I like that Devo put them back on anyway.

The iTunes LP is kind of glitchy — photos and video don't load unless you resize your iTunes window, which is bizarre — but features a slew of very amusing images.

They are not men. They are Devo cats.

It's been an oddly (wonderfully) Mothersbaugh so far, and it's only Tues. Somehow this comes as no surprise.

Those are some bored cats.

"Laser pointer? Dude, you are so going to have to do better than that."

I can't stop watching it. I'm enjoying the music and that orange cat on the top needs another cat to go up there and kick his ass.

A mothersbaugh (obs.) or "mother's bough" is the bough that breaks, resulting in the cradle's fall.

I am glad to know that there are cats that are even lazier than mine.

The album isn't terrible, but some of the songs are really, really overproduced. It's missing some of the kitschy charm of older Devo.

Dude in the window with a devo hat, or "energy dome" outside looking in the window on his cellphone. LOL

Humans, please cease artificially stimulating feline nerve centers. Report to the Devolution Rehabilitation Institute immediately.

Over are the days of Mongoloid and Jocko Homo. Too much polish, not enough punk. Fun for an afternoon listen, though, thanks!

I am currently, by sheer coincidence, wearing a DEVO-tee.

I am also, by sheer coincidence, confined to a small room and bored out of my skull.

I dunno, FLF -- it's leagues better than "Smooth Noodle Maps" and "Total Devo"... and having seen many of these new songs live a couple of times, I can at least attest that they have a good bit more punch with a live sound.

If you don't like the songs on the new Devo album, sorry, but they're the popular choice. (previous METADEVO)

Neko! Nyan nyan!

This is a riot. All the cats are trying to hide behind the curtain in the back. Some guy has to go pull them out occasionally.

I think we should combine the cats with this project. That would be fun.

And BTW, to the guy who stole my original first pressing of Devo's first single: I know who you are. And you know what you did. Bad karma, dude.

I don't want to alarm anyone but I'm fairly certain one of those cats was under the influence of catnip.

Spudcats!

Thanks so much for posting this. As I spent yesterday being productive I missed the event but am enjoying the replays.

I love these guys, whether it be early import singles of "Mongoloid" or even Easy Listening Devo. Mothersbaugh's work in TV and films is always great. When they appeared live on SNL, a friend remarked that they were "another weird novelty group" that would not last. Fortunately, they were entirely wrong. De-evolution has actually caught up with them.

Okay.

Album obtained.

I REALLY likee me some Human Rocket.

Makes me think of when I saw them in concert WAY WAY WAY back.

Oh, my cat (J The Great and Terrible, Destroyer of Chairs) seems rather unimpressed with the album.

But he's going to have to listen to it anyway.

Q: IZ WE NOT KITTEHS? A: WE IZ DEVO!

For my part, I'm happy with the new album. It's not the return to their early Q&A/Duty Now For The Future form that some people were hoping for, but it's a solid effort that reminds me a lot of the Oh No, It's DEVO!/Shout era, but with a lot more of Bob1 and Jerry's sorely-missed guitar sounds. Devo started to falter in the late '80s when they abandoned guitars to focus solely on synths, and I'm glad to see them back in the mix.

DEVO on Regis is not to be missed. They also appeared on Colbert, also good.
