Hmm...I'm stuck in a dark room with a couple of chairs and a single light bulb.
posted by jedicus at 9:44 PM on July 4, 2010

Hmm...there is a solution, but it's not very obvious.

The production values were high until "you're eyes are opening" in the very end. I hate when Flash authors can make an awesome, moody game but don't get anyone to check for typos.

the word "door" is spelled "dore" so maybe it's intentional...?

The game was lovely, I just wish it made more sense. The plot is a little too arty-farty for it's own game. Still, an incredibly beautiful piece of work. Worth it for the trampoline portion, at least.

Has anybody played through multiple times yet? Do the answers to the various questions change anything?

I am stuck in the entrails. Must art always imitate life?

Finished. Very nice. Thanks.

I am stuck in what seems to be the basement after playing the piano. I was lied to!

Oh.

I played this earlier, and I really really like it. It's excellent -- especially the music.

I rather enjoyed this, I think it was cute.

I won't spoil anything (disclaimer: spoilers) if I say that the solution to the annoying dark-room trap that's been mentioned above is to hit three switches that are all but invisible in the dark, one of which is inexplicably on the roof.

I don't feel bad about posting this, because a) it's entirely arbitrary and therefore annoying, and b) I had to look up the answer myself. I'm just paying it forward.

But yes. Very pretty. And the worm's ass was a nice touch. May someone pay this man money to illustrate something. That's the idea here isn't it?

Well, that kept me from doing the dishes for another half hour. Thanks Bonzai.

I got stuck and looked up a video walkthrough. Apparently there are supposed to be 2 switches in a room that were missing when I played it. Good production design but lousy gameplay and puzzles.

Some of the art reminds me of limbo

Would you mind linking that walkthrough, clockworkjoe?

mediareport: This video walkthrough is pretty thorough.

I checked the walkthrough because the piano bit wasn't working for me...I had it right all along but the it just wasn't working. I loved the gameplay and the nightmarish dreamy feel. I only wish it were longer.

great graphics and sound, wish the story was worth the time.

Hmm. Spent 5 minutes clicking around stuck in the room. I'm sure the rest of the game is neat, but I was done with clicking blindly into arbitrary areas (aka "pixelbitching") back in the 80's.

Seriously, what part of "click blindly without clues" is supposed to be fun?
posted by yeloson at 7:58 AM on July 5, 2010

Shouldn't need to click anywhere. It's controls are entirely the arrow keys.

Played this before knowing it was posted on here; were the switches really that hard to find? The switches themselves were distinguished from the background at least in the second room, as I remember having to look for the last one, but I'm not so sure about the first room... Over the dodgy spelling, given that the dialogue is spelt perfectly (as far as I can remember), the signs on the wall (and "the end") look to be intentionally misspellt; it actually makes sense if you take a quick guess about who exactly wrote the signs.

The ending is a bit disappointing I'll admit, and the length of the game left something to be desired, but overall I liked it. Might not be the best 'atmospheric adventure' game out there, but it is hardly the worst.

And I've just seen several errors in my comment, including "misspellt". Now I know why some people on here desire an edit function.

Alternatively very creepy and beautiful, nice atmosphere. I was stuck for a minute w/ the switches, too, but I don't think it was that hard... I just had to pause a minute and look around.

"Why don't you make yourself useful and find out what's clogging the drain behind our house?"

No

"If you don't do it I'll kill you"

Right

Finished it. The last section in the basement is whole lot of "bounce around and hope you hit the hidden switches". Other than that, it was a cute diversion.

Very cool, pretty graphics, nice music.

For those that are pixel hunting, don't, you do not have to. Everything is interacted with by running into it. Step one: run into the edge of the screen to move on.
