Tired of that NES controller digging into your palms? How about playing with your face? (SLYT) posted by griphus (9 comments total) 3 users marked this as a favorite

Why are they showing a Super Mario 2 cartridge being loaded before playing the original Super Mario? I would want more attention to detail from people attaching electrodes to my face.

I look forward to an implementation for those suffering from locked-in syndrome. No longer will they need to code their responses to medical personnel. Instead they can use the password function in "Castlevania II: Simon's Quest" to spell out a rudimentary living will.

(Also, I inexplicably like the girl who explains it, possibly because she looks just like Agatha from Girl Genius.)

I love that he had to blow on the cartridge to get it to work.
Ah, technology!

i have the 2nd gen NES. it's a toploader, and the controllers are shaped vaguely like cartoon dog-chew-bones. i never have to blow on cartridges anymore, and my hands don't have little gouge marks from the controllers' corners, either. it is wonderous.

Don't tell me I'm the only one who immediately thinks of other applications of this technology.

Hmm. So what if we put those electrodes on your... oh. Oh my.

Ahh for the days of the Atari 2600. Knowing how to blow clear the contacts on a cartridge (or run a pinch of t-shirt along them if the level 1 solution didn't work) made you the tech guru in the room.

OK it's working! Who wants to play ET? This is gonna be so awesome!

There is one fatal flaw to this idea. What are you going to do when you die mid-level, throw your face across the room?

Look up to jump? That's one surefire way to miss the next goomba.
