Help me name a cursed sword!
So, in FFXIV, we actually have this exact concept with Zanketsusen, the cursed blade of Eureka which condemns the one who slays the primal Odin to become the next Odin. (Mechanically, what happens is that after Odin (who is a world boss) is killed, the next time he respawns he uses the model of the PC who slayed him as his base.) There's also a similar blade that was in the Bozja storyline called Save the Queen where the wielder would be turned into a… [more]

one-off RPG for 3
(There is a crowdfunding campaign to bring it back, but...)

Which was successful - sadly, HeroQuest 2021 is $125 - not exactly entry level.

How is the RAV4 hybrid?
My mother in law has a hybrid RAV4, and loves it. I wind up driving it on occasion, and it handles well, for a crossover.

Wood Foundation - Yay or Nay?
We are up in Montana, and the house was built in 1980, but has had additions added over time. The posts are on concrete footings, and the inspector saw no signs of water infiltration.

It's the original part of the house (the master suite is over the garage, which is on a slab, and the three season porch is on piles that are externally visible.) And no, this isn't a trailer. (As we found out, manufactured home = trailer; modular home = built from modules built off site; pre-fabricated home = built from components (walls, etc.) built off site.)

I've been told that it's not uncommon here (we have a dry climate from being on the leeward side of the Rockies.)

Can I get a laptop that rolls up?
You could use a pico projector and a NUC style desktop with a silicon membrane keyboard. If your netbook has a VGA output and a USB port, you can just skip the NUC and attach everything to the netbook.

And I realized I need to explain.

A pico projector is a lightweight projector that is usually about the size of a smartphone. Resolution isn't the best, but it's easy to carry around.

NUC stands for New Unit of Computing, and it's Intel's catchall term for small form factor desktop computers designed for lightweight deployment scenarios. (Think something around the size of a Mac Mini.)

After Superfish, I cannot recommend any Lenovo machine in good faith.

Questions about streaming TV
Most modern BD players are also upscaling DVD players, meaning that the player will mitigate the SD issues somewhat. It's not going to make your DVDs look like HD content, but they will look better.

If you're wanting an all in one solution, Costco has a number of networked BD players that come with streaming support for a number of services around the $75-100. Make sure that all the services you want are available, though the major streaming services are usually… [more]

One of the nice parts of the Fire TV Stick is that it can either be run with the remote, or with an app on your smart device. The Roku does have an integrated headphone jack in the remote for late night viewing, though.

Non-3D printed custom action figures?
I'd also look into the Glyos system as well. Not only are there sets of bits, but there have been a few old school toy lines rebooted using it that are compatible with the parts.
