Knuckles anyone?
Interest or not, you can still do it! Sometimes posting to Fanfare helps create the interest. Even if it doesn't, Fanfare posts don't close, so people might post their comments years later.

Bee and Puppycat: Lazy in Space (Netflix)
Aaaah things get much better after the first three episodes! The word is (from someone on Reddit), that the _real_ Lazy In Space series is episodes 4-16! They were what were made as followups from the series on Youtube. The first three episodes were made as a recap of the Youtube series at Netflix's request (perhaps, demand), so the series could be generally self-contained on their network.

That is what I have heard. It seems to fit the available evidence fairly well at least.

I am working on doing a post per episode, but various things have filled up my time the past few weeks so it's been slow. I've not given up yet though!

Multiverse club?
Sliders and Rick & Morty seem like obvious inclusions.

I didn't watch it either, but it seemed to fit the description.

MST Club 2019 Christmas Marathon suggestion thread
The only problem with that is we have a Rifftrax-baked-in version of the SWHS that we play every year. Even if we created our own from the raw files, the audio also riffs on commercial breaks, so it's important that the right recording be used.

Very nice, thanks much! I'm sure we can put some of those things in.

Usually December 24 and 25, but looking at our inventory we've got a ton of content, we might could start it, maybe with only sporadic attendance by crew, on December 23. That is kind of a pie-in-the-sky idea, but we've done it before.

Steven Universe: Upcoming SUMMER OF STEVEN
You're going to like the next set of episodes then Panthalassa, because (spoilers)

in one of them, Steven, Amethyst and Peridot lament the fact that they're all too short to go on the roller coaster at Funland....

OH GOD, an official short preview: Steven introduces Peridot to "TubeTube."

If I were to handwave it, gem bodies are made of light, which is just electromagnetic radiation. Capacitance touch screens work by detecting variations in a weak electric field. Gem bodies thus (mumble mumble) and that totally explains it!

I hear that Play store may also have episodes.

MST3K Club Basics & Scheduling
Further breaking news --

We are not having a show this week either, because after a lot of effort it turns out that I can make it to IRDC US after all, the International Roguelike Developers Conference. I'll be on the bus during the time we usually watch. The bus *does* have wifi, but I don't think it's best to rely on it. We'll pick up with DADDY-O next week.

That's great iamkimiam! The Fanfare posts are not Club-specific, MST3K Club is just an adjunct to the posts. But feel free to drop by our shows if you're awake at... oh... 2 in the morning?! We've had earlier shows in the past, but it consumes a lot of time for me to run multiple shows. Of course, if you -- or anyone else! -- wanted to host your own shows I certainly wouldn't mind....

Episodes having to do with an amulet? Possibilities that come to mind strictly… [more]

It has been brought to my attention, after months of shows, that the URL in the post is actually wrong. It should read: http://sync-video.com/tv/rodneylives.

Alas, there's no way to change the main part of the post to reflect this. The right URL is listed in every MST Club post anyway....

And we're changing the location of our shows! The NEW site for our episodes (at the same time, 9 PM US Eastern time on Thursdays) is at:

Fall 2015 anime
Black Jack is wonderful, I wonder if Young Black Jack, without Tezuka around, can measure up.

I have a friend who loves the One Punch Man manga, but I couldn't get into it.

That AU Fist of the North Star one isn't the first time they've satirized FotNS.

Metafilter: Oh, this is the guy who directed My Little Sister Can't Really Be A Moose, and the character designer from Xenomoose Saga.

Comment substantively? Okay, this sounds like it could be a fun adjunct to our MST3K Club showings.

Look for Sci-Fi/SyFy Channel original films. Those things are gold mines, except for crap.

Some of these are in the Psychotronic film guides.

Er, what happened between Hercules vs. The Hydra and The Crow: Wicked Prayer?

Please stand well clear of the Wheel Of Crap as it spins, centrifugal force is not your friend in this case....

FanFare threads are starting to close
Which does kind of raise the question of how people will know when there's new conversations going on in old threads.

The solution there is the Recent Activity link at the top of the page.

Comic Books?
What if we just had one post for each series? Since FanFare threads don't close, we could just add to the conversation as we see each new issue?

Fanfare for video games?
I'd support this choice, but I think it needs to be thought about a bit. Games make the Blue on a regular basis, maybe that's a better place to talk about them?

MST3K Club?
Our viewings were on hiatus for a few months, which we just came off of. At the moment we're aiming for Thursday evenings for our viewings. We've not been calling it a "MST3K Club," but I guess it amounts to it.

We've been going through the episodes from the beginning of the cable era, meaning we're still churning through the first season. Just five more of those to go! Additionally, I've been hunting up extras, like shorts and RiffTrax best-of videos, for… [more]

I've got a couple of Cinematic Titanic DVDs somewhere, and at DragonCon one year they brought a DVD to show the crowd, but I didn't get to see a live show alas.

Librarypt, while the main episodes are Joel, we often have shorts RiffTrax compilations and other Mike-containing artifacts as pre-roll and after-show material. Last Thursday we had the Academy of Robots Awards Special, which is solidly Mike stuff.

FanFare series and "ownership"
I love posting MST3K episodes, but it's a substantial amount of work to do that. That's mostly my own fault: while the post itself is short, the recap I make in comments has ballooned in size. I could probably go back to posting them again if I learned to limit that stuff.

Still though, I don't think I "own" either MST3K or Last Week Tonight, although I admit, if I posted one and saw someone had beaten me by a few minutes, it'd be a little annoying -- but… [more]
