My laptop has developed a thing where the 2 key, which had been intermittent for a couple of weeks, now seems to be completely kaput. How to deal with this? If not to fix it, then maybe to cope with it until my next computer?

Yesterday, I started noticing that Windows is freezing for maybe a half-second every minute or so. Ordinarily it's not noticeable, but during videos or games it causes sound to catch for the duration ("...and so the solution to the pRRRRRRRoblem is..."), and sometimes video playback to glitch. Anyone have an idea what's going on?

For some months now, seemingly at random, Firefox's UI will completely freeze up. Sometimes it happens after a couple of days, but sometimes after just a few minutes. When it happens, usually it's stuck and must be closed. There's a few weird things about it though, which lead me to believe it might be a Flash or hardware acceleration problem....

Years ago there was a song on A Prarie Home Companion, sung by a chorus with no instrumentation, that sounded almost like it was in Swedish Chef Swedish, and included banging noises. I know little else about it, but have been trying to identify it and find out who sung it. Googling doesn't help. Can any of you?

Tomorrow morning I'm meeting with someone to talk about implementing a local scheduling/database application. Most everything I know about the project suggests it's something I could do in my sleep. Thing is, I desperately need the money, I don't know how much to "bid," and I have a long history of undervaluing my work. How much should I ask for?

Numbers for iOS: how to recalculate a spreadsheet on command? Like, if a cell contains a RAND or a RANDRANGE function, how to get it to produce a different random number besides reentering the formula? As near as I can tell it just sits there with the same value forever, no matter what else I do.

My university library turned vicious today when they had a policeman threaten to drag me out in handcuffs for "disorderly conduct" because I said "fucking" one time, and not loudly. He called it a "warning," but his attitude was full-bore Authoritarian Condescension. The situation is strange enough that it seems like I shouldn't just let this lie, but what is the best way to complain to the school, officially, without actually doing something brash like suing?
