In the past I've tried doing meetups at DragonCon, at specific times and places there, and I only ever met one person that way. So I gave up. Now I'm doing it again, but differently. I'm going to be at DragonCon this year. If you're also going to be there, let me know and we can communicate and try to say hi in person over Labor Day Weekend. Nothing huge, just a chance to bump into interesting people and maybe go to related panels or get in board games or the like. I'm going alone and it'd be nice to actually see people that I know (even if just in the MeFi online kind of way).

Several years previously, I've tried to hold meetups at DragonCon, and I practically never find anyone. There is really no reason to believe it'll be any different this time, but I'm posting this anyway, as a place for everyone to say if they're going and make plans, whether they will be thwarted or not. At the very least there is the awesome BOARD GAMING ROOM, a huge packed room containing a table heaped with hundreds of board games to check out, sufficient reason to attend the convention all by itself. Note, the time and place given is the registration line, this isn't a "normal" meetup.

How about a "rolling" meetup to play board, card and role-playing games in the ginormous gaming room at Dragon*Con?
