Kitteh and I are in Kingston but on staycation from November 26-30 and love Ottawa; any evening in that span would be great for us! No real location recommendations but vegan options would be swell if possible.

Up in Kingston and I'd peg Kitteh and I at about a 25% likelihood -- not a lack of willingness, but I'm not quite sure what the car rental options are that let us cross the border, and our weekends are pretty snarled up in the first bit of the new year.

Yes, Armstrong Park -- north side. For some reason, "Congo Square" showed up on Google Maps when I looked up the address we were at, but the park name didn't. I'm interested in visiting NOMA; "Verbatim Verboten" at the Shadowbox Theater sounds like it would be either awesome or dreadful (anyone seen it?). I will be there with a (non-mefi) friend, who is a bit nervous of the whole thing. He says it's because of his not perfect english (...) I'm pretty fluent in both English and French, if that's your friend's language of preference, and Kitteh needs to practice her French as well.

We got in a game of Give Me The Brain, which soon became Give Me Another Game, One With A Set Terminal Point Because This Just Will Not Goddamn End. Oh no! Kitteh is going to be out of town visiting her folks, but I might venture into the city (I'm in Sherbrooke, about 90 minutes out) on Saturday the 26th. We're big fans of Amère à Boire (St-Denis and Sherbrooke), a brewpub that serves up excellent microbrews and is generally much less crowded than Dieu du Ciel.

There's a chance my wife might get her passport back from the US by the 24th -- she's applying for permanent residency up here, and the last step involves her sending her passport in to be sent back with her PR card -- and if so, we'd love to come. It is not a strong chance, though.
