stray IR is most likely. I noticed once it did it at a scene change.

LDS, I'd say the latter. I had an exact same model that did the same but only a few times. slight power surge is interesting.

TV in restaurant kitchens?
the only time we ever had a TV in the kitchen is the place I work now. primarily for sporting events but occasionally they turn on Netflix or Hells Kitchen which to me seemed really weird to watch television while you're trying to cook. but then again a lot of guys wear earphones so there's that going on whether it's telephone or or music. the boss recently disconnected the TV because one of the workers misplaced the remote which is universal remote for all the other TVs.

What historical models did contemporaries compare the Nazis/Fascists to?
The little corperal, Austrian corperal. Napoleon was referred to as corperal.
found this: "During the Nazi era, Adolf Hitler was frequently compared to previous leaders including Napoleon, Philip of Macedon, and Nebuchadnezzar. The comparers wanted to make Hitler understandable to their audiences by comparing him to known leaders, but according to historian Gavriel Rosenfeld the comparisons obscured Hitler's radical evil. I think most commonly he was understood in terms of the "militaristic Prussian" tradition running back to Bismarck.

Though Hitler admired Bismarck, he distrusted the aristos, a few exceptions, Von Stauffenberg...By 1940, the Prinzenerlass was passed after Bismarck II grandson was killed.

Poetry for the lonely
The Sense Of The Sleight-Of-Hand Man.

One's grand flights, one's Sunday baths,
One's tootings at the weddings of the soul
Occur as they occur. So bluish clouds
Occurred above the empty house and the leaves
Of the rhododendrons rattled their gold,
As if someone lived there. Such floods of white
Came bursting from the clouds. So the wind
Threw its contorted strength around the… [more]

Teenager: Seizures: cannabis: should I tell doctors?
Since the state is unknown, the OP mentioned illegal with a possible medicine that works but to garner more medical information, could led to legal ramifications.
I suggest talking to other residents of your state; friends, family etc. This way you can gather information on the illegal aspect and how to protect your family if a CBD or equivalent is sustainable. I personally have heard success stories using cannabis and derivatives in related conditions.

A team of soldiers who stopped a war?
How large scale? For example the Bizerte crisis seems to fit the end criteria but not sure if you consider that large-scale.

The Cambodian civil war (75-79) fits I think. After some broader clashes, the Vietnamese took Phenom Pehn in a very short time.

Actually, between 12 and 14 divisions and 3 regiments of Khmer. As you well know, the Vietnamese let these solders take Phenom Pehn before the Vietnamese army followed up. Yeah, a regiment is still large but so were most of the examples given, Falklands, Israeli incursions..those too included large amounts of solders. (Though not as large)

I guess a contrast would be Falklands and the Mayaguez incident. One involving ships and many troops and the latter, a couple hundred… [more]

No switch on date, I've seen that before on leases. The neighbors unit is running and the run off is pooling around the newly installed partition wall in the basement.
Which I reported today.

Well, if you advertised AC and did not provide, that's false advertising and breach of contract.

Also, the AC units are there and even if we offered to pay for the service, we couldn't as management said "They do that" which is admition right there.

"Nixon" directed by Stone.
The left out footage, esp. With Dick Helms ( Sam Waterson) is great.

Redford/Pitt in 'Spy game' is ok.

There is an oft mentioned film starring Ian Richardson and Anthony Hopkins called "Blunt" if only for Hopkins accurate portrayal.

And "The Bedford Incident". Poitier at his edgy smooth to the twitching Richard Widmark. Note some bridge sounds, you'll hear them in Lucas' film.

Examples of surprising aspects of everyday life during past times
My history teacher told me the Vaccum cleaner actually created more work for women.

Both my parents were treated by veterinarians in thier youth, not an uncommon practice for minor ailments and stitches and broken bones.

When the hand crank was the only way to start the auto, people would create slogans, sayings or little prayers before cranking. An interesting study would be to examine the occurrences of broken arms and wrists when the push button/ keyed starter was introduced.
