The Muppets: Pig Out

This is the first episode of the show that didn't somehow leave me feeling dirty and used and hating myself.

That's progress, I think.

Actually, this episode felt closer to right than the previous three. Several laugh-out-loud moments for me, and it seems like they managed somehow to bring joy back to the show. Joy had been severely lacking earlier, and it's part of what I always loved about The Muppets.

The Muppets: Pig Girls Don't Cry

I'm going to say, I'm interested in where this might go as a series (if they have any brain they're setting us up for a quality Muppet payoff by the end of the season), but this first episode was MUCH darker than I was expecting, and I'm not really pleased with the taste it left in my mouth.

I mean, I'm a GIANT Muppets fan, but this was... not really at all what I was wanting.

Movie: Into the Woods

I haven't seen this yet, but plan on seeing it soon. I've read a bit about it, and wonder a bit about some of the choices (like deleting the Narrator, which means that there is no Omniscient Outsider guiding the action and there is no moment of "what the fuck do we do now, without the OO to make things turn out"), but Mr. hippybear saw it and really liked it, and he's easily as critical an audience as I am. Star Wars Rebels: Spark of Rebellion

They are very lazy with the hair rendering. Put in characters that are walking carpets of hair, and you get really plastic blobby looking things.

I know rendering hair well takes computing power, but c'mon guys, don't be THAT lazy, really.
