They used to have Spooky songs in the past

It's hard to find new music for Spooky Season. But it turns out, there's a century of tunes to turn to! 13 Halloween Songs from the 1920's & 1930's [40m] and Vintage Halloween Music [50s and 60s, 40m] are both probably full of songs you didn't know exist. For something a bit more modern, perhaps Spooky Swing - Electro Swing Halloween Mix 2020 🎃 😈 🌕 💀 [1h40m] will get you up and hopping.

Some kind of clever title about masks

Clever homemade spooky masks can run the gamut of difficulty. This simple mask use uses hot glue [and a UV light] for its effects. Here's a clever chalkboard mask that could be made with a simple base or custom per the instructions. A little more skill might be required to make this duct tape Batman mask. Real skills would be required for this Spawn Of Cthulhu creation. Nearly 60 mask projects with instructions await your perusal at Instructables.

It isn't lost and it isn't a masterpiece

Apparently back in 1975, Graham Chapman of Monty Python and Douglas Adams not quite yet of Hitchhiker's Guide wrote a television show. It's an incomprehensible mess that's entirely worth watching. Out Of The Trees [32m]

Honestly, I was not expecting this

So, it's possible that one of my favorite albums of this year is by... Dr. Noah Drake? All I can do is ask that you check out the newest album from 74-year-old Rick Springfield, Automatic [YT Playlist ~1h total]. He talked to American Songwriter about this album, which blends dance hooks with punk rock. Here's the first single, title track Automatic. But please check out the full album.

Dr. Robert Hartley is having a really bad day. His dream last night of a strange little inn in Vermont seemed to last for years, and now he can't get anyone to take seriously how disturbing it was. I never even knew this existed! From 1991, The Bob Newhart Show: The 19th Anniversary Special [47m].

I'm not always a fan of Drew Gooden's videos. His style is a bit irritating at times. But the video Buying the weirdest cat toys on the internet [20m] really made me laugh out loud a couple of times. Plus, it's about cats. And toys. Always a great combination.

There's something satisfying about watching a skilled person practice their craft. When you combine that with education, that's even better. A Visual Guide to the Cuts of Beef: Learn Where Every Cut Comes From! Friar Park, Henley-On-Thames

Let's say you want to build yourself a fantasy home. What would it contain? A hedge maze? Formal gardens? A lake, surrounded by trees, upon which to row? Maybe greenhouses? Perhaps an alpine garden with a forced-perspective Matterhorn? How about secret caves? How about all this AND MORE? Now there are going to be complaints about this convention, but...

content warning: nuclear war

"The makers of The Atomic Cafe [1982, 1h26m] sifted through thousands of feet of Army films, newsreels, government propaganda films and old television broadcasts to come up with the material in their film, which is presented without any narration, as a record of some of the ways in which the bomb entered American folklore. There are songs, speeches by politicians, and frightening documentary footage of guinea-pig American troops shielding themselves from an atomic blast and then exposing themselves to radiation neither they nor their officers understood." - Roger Ebert

Japanese Precision Walking Competition Group Action 2011

集団行動 group action 2011年 Japanese Precision Walking Competition [14m] I won't even pretend to understand much of what is going on here. The introduction is long, and the real action begins around 1m42s. The Pig Racing Woodland Finals! [16m] was enough of a curious title that I had to click on it when YouTube put it in front of me. The Corruption Of Lindsey Graham

Like many, I've surmised that the reason Lindsey Graham went from Never Trump to Trump's Biggest Champion was because Donny had some kompromat on him. But after listening to the podcast from The Bulwark's Will Saletan, The Corruption Of Lindsey Graham [Bulwark link, podcast overview, individual episode pages are full of ancillary material, no listening links], I'm not so sure. It turns out, he has a whole career doing documentaries trying to explain the United States to a UK audience steeped in US mass media. Blessed Are The Noisemakers

DJ Food has opened for Art Of Noise twice, once in 2018 and again in 2023. In each occasion, he created a sound collage of work from across the AON spectrum. The individual members are prolific on their own, so while the mixes stray far from AON sources, the journey of each of these mixes is surprising and engaging and remains true to the original group. Quentin Crisp, a life in film

It's hard to believe, perhaps even astonishing, that The Naked Civil Servant [1h17m] was shown on British television in 1975. John Hurt's brilliant portrayal of Quentin Crisp in an unflinching film about being nonbinary homosexual in Britain, based on Crisp's 1968 autobiography, propelled both men into immediate fame.
