Historical fiction set in Ancient Greece about ordinary people
I would love to find more historical fiction set in Ancient Greece, about ordinary people. I'm a huge fan of Gillian Bradshaw, so anything like that would be a plus. I'm not picky about the genre either.
Novels set in ancient Egypt that don't suck
I'd like to find novels set in ancient Bronze Age pharaonic Egypt that don't suck. I'm not picky about genres.
Looking for used bookstores in the LA area with big romance selection
Every so often I take my friends to a new part of Los Angeles to look at a used bookstore with a good used romance selection. This town has lots of great used bookstores and it's fun using this as a jumping-off point to explore a new part of the city we're not familiar with.

Why were people so scared of "juvenile delinquents" in the 1950s?
I've been fascinated with 1950s-1960s stuff for a long time, and for just as long I've accepted that people back then were fascinated with evil, misbehaving youth, and indeed thought that "JDs" were a Huge Problem in Society (i.e. West Side Story, Blackboard Jungle, or Rebel Without A Cause).
I've been given an old iPhone. Now what?
A friend gave me her old iPhone 3 after she upgraded to 4. Her old SIM card is still in it. I'm wondering what to do next.

Has the world changed much since the 1980s?
A friend and I had a friendly disagreement about whether society as a whole has changed significantly since the 1980s. Can you help me bolster my side?
What should 22nd century California be like?
I'm writing a series of time travel novels. Since my first one is scheduled to be published in November, I've been debating what my next one should be. One idea I have is for a young woman in San Francisco or Los Angeles to find herself 100 years in the future (in 2110 or so), but I need some help imagining a realistic future.
What time travel novels do you recommend?
I'm looking for recommendations for time travel novels-- ones that I might specifically like-- and I'd like to ask the HiveMind what they think.
Countdown to Kid Destruction
My friend's bipolar kid is going to be out of medication tomorrow, and no doctor is in sight. We're wondering what we can do.
Researching 19th century India
I'm starting a novel set in 19th century India-- but I don't know where to start my research.
Possibly Moving to Atlanta
I'm thinking of leaving New York for Atlanta.
Powdered wigs BUT NO GUILLOTINES
I'm looking for English language historical romances set in France during the early to mid 18th century, that are not in any way involved with the French Revolution.
What is this time travel short story?
I need help finding this short story I read in 5th grade, around 1985. It was a sci-fi time travel story, possibly written for a middle grade/YA audience, and it was anthologized in a school textbook/reader.
