"Imagine if Animal Crossing had a long lost mutant sibling that coalesced out of a creative flurry in a mere four months"

Bunni is a super adorable harvest moon/animal crossing flash game thing by Andre Spierings and Daniel Cook (the folks behind fishing girl). (via JiG)

For all your optical illusion and visual gimmick needs.

What do I have in my pocket?

CHATFILTER: Looking for games of the 'exquisite corpse' variety that can be played by adults and require nothing more than creativity and intelligence. Ideally, we'd even dispense with pen and paper.

navigating and posting

Very new to this site and not good at navigating in general. Would like to know how I go about posting general questions. For instance if I have a question about cars...do I do a search for cars and then post a question in that particular area? Pardon my clumsiness...this site was recommended highly and I've been told, I can't do or say anything stupid or I will be kicked out, so I want to ask before i attempt anything.

If I can't dance, I don't wanna be part of your (information) revolution.

Mortal Engine (highlights; interview) and Glow (interview) combine dancing and projected video to stunning effect. The secret? The dancers aren't following the light — the light is following the dancers.

What add-ons to Firefox do you find useful?

I just learned about Firefox add-ons and grease monkey scripts (I know, I know....) There are literally thousands of these things and I was wondering which ones you find useful and how you use them. Any recommendations?

Dagger of the Mind

The SF Signal Mind Meld feature poses science fiction related questions to a number of SF luminaries and the scientist, science writer or blogger. Subjects have included the best women writers in SF, taboo topics in SF, underated authors and the most controversial SF novels of the past and present. The also cover lighter topics, such the role of media tie-ins, how Battlestar Galactica could have ended better (bonus Geoff Ryman) and the realistic (or otherwise) use of science on TV SF shows.

Do I need a new roof?

In my second year of first-time home ownership and husband and I are thinking we need to do a little spring cleaning around the house. Other than a minor plumbing issue in the bathroom we have had (knock on wood) zero problems with the house. In an effort to keep up this track record, what trouble spots should we look for in the house? How do you know if the roof is in good shape? What are typical home maintenance needs?

Sooo Funky

29 year old Hiromi Uehara first mesmerized the jazz community with her 2003 Telarc debut, Another Mind. 4 albums later she continues to astonish and inspire. On February 3rd, she released the album Duet, a collaboration with Chick Corea, having first played with Corea at age 17. A graduate of the Berklee School of Music, Hiromi tours relentlessly with her crack band. I defy your jaw not to drop at their performances here, here, and here.

I know this is all we get, but I can’t accept it.

I know that we all die and that there’s absolutely no way around that. I know and accept that one day I will die as well, and I’m not afraid of dying, per se. What I am afraid of—terrified of really—is no longer existing, no longer being conscious of everything that’s happening in this great wide world, no longer being sentient, I guess. What can I do?
