I love her videos.

My favorite part of those linked above is the end of the turduckenen - "No matter how crazy people are, at least mathematics is always there for you making sense and truth and beauty"

Which to me is simultaneously inspiring and sad.

timfinnie, here's one place where the solicitor general for Texas is quoted. The gist is that if funds for the program go to Planned Parenthood, then the program is illegal and has to be shut. At least, that's how it reads to me.

It's interesting to me that DV victims are frequently blamed for causing the crime that was committed. It's like because people don't understand the dynamics (which as many have already pointed out are complicated), the only way to make sense of it is to assume that something is wrong with her. I'm ashamed to admit that I did not know very much about the Bosnian war until recently. I've been reading more, inspired by you all (and Dee Xtrovert in particular). Part of me is glad that I learned about this bastard only recently, so I didn't have to wait long before seeing him brought to justice (if this is in fact him).

These are very cool. I am, however, reminded of a high=school teacher who disliked digital watches (early 80s). He said that you lost something important with the switch from analog to digital, specifically the visual representation of time passing. That a dial breaks up the day, and the hands moving around the dial are indicators of how much has passed. 15 minutes looks like a quarter of an hour, for example.

I suspect he'd like these even less than digital watches...
