Can I eat it? Instant Pot
If you're really worried, just heat them up again to over 160 degrees for a few minutes and anything that has grown will be killed. You won't have botulism in there because of how it was cooked, so you'll probably be fine even without heating.

I lost the cancellation email. Any chance of recovery without it?

I do not have an account with Southwest.

I have not gone directly to my Gmail account and looked through things there. I deleted it from my Mail on my Macintosh, and have looked through that quite thoroughly and there is no trace of it there. Does deleting something locally delete it from the online version of the account? I had assumed it does...

I'm... finding the entire structure of my Mail reflected in this Gmail that I'm looking at, and there is nothing here to indicate I can find anything that I might have deleted. If you have magical advice, please share it, but right now, this is exactly the same as browsing my local Mail, only it's in a browser window.

Oh, you're sweet for assuming I might have deleted this within the past 30 days. I've had something close to 100,000 messages in my Inbox for a while and have been doing a lot of editing to get it down to something my computer is happier to deal with. At some point I obviously did a delete sweep that included the email I'm looking for. I have no idea when this might have been but rest assured, your "it might be in your trash" solution is one of the first I looked at.… [more]

Alright! Well, I got over my anxiety and called and they got it all squared away for me. And I had to call back to get the reservation squared away, but they did it all at the costs I was seeing online and it was friendly and great.

So, here's the thing for anyone reading this in the future: JUST CALL SOUTHWEST. They are nice people and they will help you do things.

Thanks for everyone who encouraged me here.

Baker's Cyst treatment experiences
Okay, so let's get a bunch of testimonials in this Ask, that actually answer my question, so I am armed with the knowledge of what kind of symptoms resulted in what kind of treatment and if that treatment was successful.

Why is the AskMe community fighting against me asking the question of "what treatments have you received for Baker's Cysts?"

I'm aware of the risks, and thank you for the early input about this. I'm interesting in a different conversation than that, however.

Okay, well, I guess I should have asked about this during my eye appointment last week.

Since I've given them $600 for these lenses, I won't be going in for a consult soon, and it sounds like that will be fruitless in any event.

I appreciate the feedback here. It's good to have things clarified.

gas permeable contacts (is that the type of hard contacts you were using?)

Nope, mine were entirely just hard pieces of plastic I put on top of my eye with a layer of liquid every morning. I would sleep with the case and the bottle next to me and first thing insert each one and go about my day.

Honestly, I had a miraculous experience with hard contacts, aside from the bit of tiny butt-puckering that involves keeping track of… [more]

Mental Health Care Intake Appointment Tips And Tricks?
Thanks everyone for your input here. It's helped me organize my thoughts a lot.

I think I'm doing a general intake appointment with a larger service, and I don't know if the person I'm going to be talking to is the person I might be seeing longer term. Maybe I should have asked questions about that, but I'm really just trying to push things forward for myself and I'm going it all a bit blind.

Just dropping in to say THANK YOU to everyone who provided answers in this thread. Why should I log in to YouTube?
So, to summarize what I've read here so far:

I could get a red progress bar underneath what I've watched: already happens without logging in

Liking improves recommendations: are there actual studies that provide proof that this is true, about the generic Youtube recommendation page? I'd like to read those.

Every channel I'm usually watching has their new videos thrust into my recommendations without logging in.… [more]

My cat has itchy bumps and I want to help
Okay, so it's not fleas or any kind of skin vermin like that. The bumps show up and some go away and some stick around and then go away after a long time. Sometimes one of them will pull off and it's like a bunch of hair stuck together onto some kind of little skin plug thing, similar to something I might pull out of my own body. Albeit with less fur if it's from me.

I'm really not looking at taking him in for more medical treatment for this. As I said, he is quite old,… [more]

Okay, so, a lot of questions here.

He's an indoor cat. So fleas how?

Neither vet suggested these bumps could be from fleas, neither of them suggested he be treated for fleas, and given how both of these vets seem to have been pushing me for maximum dollar value out of my cat, it's peculiar they didn't even want to do that.

Neither of them actually offered any solution for itching on my cat. One offered a monthly… [more]

You know one thing I can't get out of my head is how at the end of the second phone call he went into a bit of a speech about how we've known each other for a long time even if we aren't close, but "if you ever need anything, just know you can count on me". And I thanked him for the shoulder to lean on if I needed it, but didn't say "well, you suggested this trip and didn't follow through with it so count on you to do WHAT, exactly?"

Our last phone call ended with me telling him I'd call him on Saturday to see what the situation with his job is. I plan to keep this commitment as his failure to be in communication with me on the schedule he had set, repeatedly, is part of what led to this situation. Best Non-James Bond Films?
It isn't a spy movie but instead is a thief series, but there's a French series on Netflix called Lupin that is adapted loosely from a very famous series of books about a rich playboy thief. The series felt inventive to me in the same way that Bond movies do, with fun set pieces that often have a twist. It's available with a pretty good English dub or in French with subtitles.

Gear for mushroom growing in a small apartment
If you really just want to get into the spore growing thing quickly, I've purchased substrate from North Spore that worked great. Came pre-sterilized in a bag with an injection port, worked pretty well. The bag itself is smaller than a breadbox. They have substrate for both manure-loving and wood-moving types, as well as spores, even pre-innoculated bags, I think.

As with many of these sorts of things, there is a community organization that is probably going to be more responsive than the official thing, and can generate answers out of the official thing better than a random person. In this case you want the Point Reyes National Seashore Association as a starting point for your queries.

And asking people who might know for pointers about what might be at each stop might be a thing I could do?

Okay, so to follow up with this, thank you for the recommendation for Kubota Garden. I wish I'd been there on a sunny day but even without bright sunshine the layers and colors were wonderful. I will note: the map shows there's a foot/bike path that goes to the garden. But the map doesn't show that this footpath goes up and over a rather impressive hill and then dumps you at a locked gate on the wrong corner of the garden. So if any of you ever do go there, take the streets and not the footpath.… [more]

What hotels in DC offer childcare?
So, you might try calling the concierge desks of hotels you're interested in that are listed on Google as having childcare available. That might be an option they can arrange for you that isn't strictly a hotel amenity.

If all else fails, I did find this service called White House Nannies which seems to be specifically a service providing babysitting services for people traveling to DC for things like conferences. If they exist, similar other businesses might also exist.

My friend circle has a story about Easy Cheese and it coming out of a can much too quickly.

What is your experience with live TV streaming services?
The price is the only drawback - and IMO it's a big drawback if you only care about one sport, or one channel, or whatever...

The highest price for premium YouTube is less than half of what we're paying for DISH right now. So finding a way to step down and not lose what we love while dropping a lot of what we don't care about, like 20 shopping channels, might be a good move.

We just need to learn more about what's out there, and this feedback so far has been great. I hope to get more.

Yes, we have access to the TCM catalog of movies through other services already. The actual TCM channel stream is important to us, and we'd like to reduce costs while retaining that.

So we've bought a month of YouTube Live and we're going to try it out and see how it goes for us. An interesting thing will be to see how often we're turning to DISH for programming we can't find you YTL. I'll report back afterward. Thanks for everyone's input on this question!

So we've tried out YouTube Live for a month, and they block too much of the TCM stream for no apparent reason. Like, the movies they block, you can't see them anywhere else, so why blocked? No idea.

So for now we're going to cancel YouTube Live. We might try another service, but this one attempt to get away from DISH has proven less than adequate.

TCM does have an app for Roku, the Internet streaming hardware. But "In order to access WATCH TCM, you must get TCM at home through either a cable or satellite TV package." It does sound like maybe it's unfiltered though.

We have the TCM app on our TV units, but using it is indeed tied to our DISH subscription. So it's more an add-on than a standalone service.

It also does not have the actual TCM channel stream,… [more]

Okay, I looked at the product page. Is the flex-shaft something that runs between the Dremel and a bit attachment?

I mentioned this a bit on Mastodon. I used to run with a Flexshaft drill in a jewelry making facility.
