What's the deal with your nickname? How did you get it? If your nickname is self-explanatory, then tell everyone when you first started using the internet, and what was the first thing that made you say "wow, this isn't just a place for freaks after all?" Was it a website? Was it an email from a long-lost friend? Go on, spill it.

Many years ago, there was a kid who wrote bad fantasy stories. When she found out about BBSs, she used the name of the protagonist of the worst of those stories.

....many years later, she still uses that name as her primary logon damn near everywhere, to the point that she has friends who refer to her by that name instead of her real name.

On the bright side, she's yet to be sued by a drug company.

In 2021, she came out as transgender and is now having to go back and rework a lot of biographical blurbs. She's a bit happier now.
