Just to reiterate the point, emotional abuse can be as bad if not worse for the victim than physical abuse. Courses exist that focus on more than just avoiding certain kinds of behavior, including things like socialization, objectification, healthy relationships (of all stripes), etc. Challenging patriarchal norms is kind of at the root of a lot of it, to your comment.

Contact a local domestic violence agency. They will be able to point you to any of a variety of resources that might be able to provide assistance/advice w/r/t safety, next steps, etc.

Consider also looking at the Stalking Resource Center for information, documentation notebooks, etc. Consider downloading and keeping a documentation notebook, which usually goes hand-in-hand with a restraining order.

I can't speak for you, but shit that triggers me is exactly what I need to work on. That which I resist, persists.

You might consider "the body keeps the score" as a resource. It's quite good at helping to understand patterns/reactions to trauma.

Their Incident Log has been simplified, and is a useful tool if it suits you. And note that you don't have to wait for physical threats before contacting law enforcement, some states have cyber-harassment laws.

The National Center for Victims of Crime maintains the Stalking Resource Center, which contains a lot of information and a "Stalking Incident and Behavior Log " you can print/copy to record contacts.

They also have safety planning resources, which will expand on the suggestions that others have made above.

Similar to source.decay's 4/5, the advice I got from as an undergraduate was to write to professors I was interested in, and ask them questions or for pre-prints of upcoming articles. Don't just introduce yourself, ask for something. Back then, it was a matter of writing letters. I'd be inclined to do that these days as well, just to make it more personal.
